Ottawa Hills Boys finish in 2nd Place over all D2

Ottawa Hills Boys finish in 2nd Place over all D2

Ottawa Hills Boys finished runner-up/2nd place for Division II MHSAA State Finals 

1st place in the 800m relay (Sam Beal, Jacorri Millbrooks, Shawn Kneeland, Teyland Avery). They also broke the OHHS 800m relay school record with a 1.28.16.

2nd and 3rd in the 100m (Teyland Avery and Sam Beal). Also broke the OHHS 100m school record with a 10.60.

3rd in 200m (Sam Beal), breaking the OHHS 200m school record with a 21.76.

2nd in 400m (Davon Mickinney).

9th in the 400m (Jacorri Millbrooks).

2nd in 400m relay (Sam Beal, Charles Wysinger, Teyland Avery, Cameron Brown).

 2nd in 1600m relay (Jacorri Millbrooks, Devon McKinney, Rashard Bivins, Davon McKinney).

 7th in the 110m hurdles (Shawn Kneekand) .

Creston student-athletes Sam Freeman, Cortez Sims, D’Asia Ingram and Eunice Eyamba earned All Confernece honors last Saturday at the OK Blue Conference meet.

In addition Andrea Kooistra tied the school record in the Girls pole vault at 8′ 0″. This ties the school record set by Annie Waalkes last week.

Creston student-athlete Mallory Robinson played in the finals of the OK Blue Tennis tournament. Mallory, a senior, who has played #1 Singles for 4 years, also played volleyball where she received All Conference Honorable Mention.

Creston Results at Hopkins Invitational

Annie Waalkes (City) broke the school record in the girl’s pole vault with an 8’0 vault taking 2nd place.

Eunice Eyamba was a double winner in the 100m and 200m.

Other medalists were:

Alicia Gaines – Discus 5th place
Melanie Rothey (City) – Shot put 6th place
Abdul Salat – 1600m – 3rd place
Nick Maternowski (City) – 3200m – 3rd place
Josh Bell (City) 3200m – 6th place

Union wrestlers qualify for MYWAY state tournament

Union wrestlers qualify for MYWAY state tournament

Junius Murphy and Mehdi Mohamadali qualified for the 2013 Michigan Youth Wrestling Association State Championships this past Sunday at the Western Regional at Grandville.  Mehdi placed 4th and Junius placed 3rd.  Murphy’s only loss came against an all state wrestler from Newaygo by a close decision.  The state finals will be Sunday March 26th at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek

Creston Cross Country

CROSS-COUNTRY
Cortez Sims, Deon Patin, Josh Bell (City), and Jude Eyamba earned medals at the Saranac Color Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday, October 9.  The boys placed as follows (out of 87 runners):
 
* Corez Sims placed 7th
* Deon Patin placed 15th
* Josh Bell placed 23rd
* Jude Eyamba placed 29th
 
The team placed 4th (out of 10 schools).

The Lady Bears had a strong showing at  the volleyball invite on Saturday. Creston defeated Ottawa Hills in the finals 3 games to zero.
